Many people don’t know it, but that “free” upgrade to Windows 10 isn’t entirely free. Or, at least, it comes with some hidden costs. Most of those costs are in compromises to your privacy. That’s right—Microsoft has now joined the ranks of big data miners, and with the default settings in Windows 10, they’re gathering loads of data about you.
But there are some things you can do to minimize this, simply by knowing which settings to change and where to find them. There are lots of them. In fact, in this great article at How-To Geek, you’ll find there are 30 settings (!) you’ll need to change to regain some of the privacy you already assumed you had! I highly recommend you at least read this article and see for yourself the kinds of data that Microsoft is accumulating about you if you use Windows 10. Then you can decide whether you’d like to change the default settings within to something more reasonable.
We can also assist with this if it seems too technical or complicated.
