We recently had a case of malware involving take-over of the Safari browser on a Mac desktop. This goes to show that even if you’re running on an Apple platform, malware can still cause you problems.
Ironically, what would have been a quick fix on a Windows PC proved difficult on this Mac because of a lack of variety of tools that are widely available (and often free) in the PC sphere.
If nothing else, secure your system with a free version of software, such as Avast, which also has PC and Android versions.
